  i've been shooting with a canon rebel xt for about a year and have acquired a few nice lenses.

  i've been thinking of moving up to a canon 5d.

  anyone here have experience with this camera?.

  the wts makes me so angry....i just talked to my sh*t head step dad who treated me like crap all my life and who is now trying to tell me how apostate i have become and how it was me who left my mother in the first place when i left the dubs...(so i shunned her first????

  ) he said he could hear the "apostate" in my voice....god i hate it!!

  there is no reasoning with them at all....it feels so hopeless.

  Its amazing that all of those people associated with the JW's repeat the exact same words and thoughts, yet they claim they are not brainwashed, or programmed through the WTS literature to think a certain way.

  What I find incredible, is that this stone cold, heartless bullshit is written in the pages for WORLDLY parents to read (assuming that people are still placing the rags to the public). If I were a worldly person who read an article stating that if my child 'rebelled', then I would be obligated to shun them, there's no damn way I'd ever want to join. Jeezus, don't the boneheads in the Writing Department think before they write?

  Mary I think that everything the WTS writes is aimed at the JW's, not the "wordly" people. I don't take this stance because I want it to be so, it just resonated with me and I haven't heard "convincing evidence" to contradict it. They preach to the choir because no one else is in the church.

  I just want to say Happy Holidays. You've outdone yourself with all the shunning articles this year. My family has benefited greatly from them. My MIL listened to your advice and shunned her loyal daughter. My wife found this site in May and is now after 47 years is totally free of the WTS mental stranglehold.

  You still have my MIL, but when I showed her the interpretations in the Finished Mystery, Rutherford's letter to Hitler and asked her to show me when where how and why did the FDS turn their power over to the Governing Body. she snickered, then she chuckled, then told me that I shouldn't pay any attention to the WTS literature, just the bible.

  Wishing you and yours all the best during this years truly magical holiday season.

  'Remaining Steadfast When a Child REbels'

  In reality, at one time or another all normal children rebel, experiment, test the waters,....don't they?

  You can draw his attnetion to various scriptures and to the publications provided by the 'faithful and discreet slave.' WTS

  or you could just be a normal parent, see it for what it is, and use common sense in dealing with your child, instead of further alienating them.

  a christian parent would strive to avoild needless associati on.

  Unless you need moral or financial support from the people you are shunning, then it is OK under the grounds of calling it business related

  Siding with your rebellious child would not be providing any real protection from the Devil. hysterical thinking created by the WTS.

  Being a responsible parent would. Not raising your child in a cult and putting pressure on them to get baptized at a ridiculously early age just to appease you, helps as well.

  I LOVED the drive-ins!

  Last movie I saw at a drive-in....Planet of the Apes

  How about roller skating parties .....where you actually got to hold her hand ?

  How about air raid drills in school when everyone went out into the hallway and you got on your knees and held your hands over your head....kind of the same way the muslims pray to allah, only no rockin' back and forth.

  I brought it to one members attention that it is a hateful word and shouldn't be used and I only received a hateful retort and defensiveness. People can get that way when they are called on their bad behavior.

  You know Iforget, if this person despite that reaction to your plea, refrained from ever using that term again, then you ultimately succeeded in your goal.
